We scored a film…
A couple of years back, Matt mixed a hilarious indie film called, “YouthMin” and he hasn’t stopped quoting it since. In the summer of 2020, the filmmakers asked Matt if he’d be interested in replacing the temp score with original music as they were planning a worldwide release. Matt called Jeff and work began.
“YouthMin” will be available on Amazon and iTunes (coming soon) for rental and purchase starting on 04/28/21.
We’re working on a “soundtrack” of sorts that will include some extended versions of the music you’ll hear in the film. We’ll post more about here when we have a release date set.
So, check out the trailer. It’s funny and the music doesn’t suck either.
Our music...
It’s so good, we drank the whole thing.
Our self-titled EP, that was centered around the song, “Good Citizen” is available on all streaming platforms. There are several singles too. More music is coming.
Spotify has us listed as two bands, “The Smart Kids”, for the EP and, “Smart Kids” for everything else. Yup, it’s confusing to us too. We’re working with them to get it corrected, but for now, here’s where you can find our music.
Apple likes to think of us as actual kids, so they sprinkle in a few songs for kids. Wonderful.
So here’s the secret decoder ring you’ll need to listen to us, at least for now.

What’s next…
The “YouthMin” soundtrack is being worked on and we’ll post more about it on social and here once we have a release date.
Beyond that, we’re navigating how the next Smart Kids music release will get made. We work best when we’re able to be in the same room together and between the pandemic and living in different parts of the country, it hasn’t been easy, but we’re not done. A new Smart Kids record will happen.
We loved working on the music for “YouthMin”, so we really hope you’ll check that out. Thanks to the filmmakers for bringing us in.
